Meeting of the Regional Interagency Working Group (IWG) on ICT
The 27th Meeting of the Regional Interagency Working Group (IWG) on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was held on 13 March 2023 at the APT Headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting was attended by 14 representatives of regional/international organizations including APT, UNESCAP, ITU, ICAO, UNCDF, WFP UNPOG and UNU.
This Interagency Working Group was launched among ITU, UNESCAP, and APT with the objective to consider and plan possible collaboration and synergy among the agencies or departments in the field of ICT.
During the meeting, there were sharing of activities and fruitful discussions for further coordination to maximize the benefit of each activity and enhance the development of ICT in the Asia-Pacific region.

The establishment of the Correspondence Group for the Strategic Plan of the APT for 2024-2026 (CGSP) was approved by the 46th Session of the Management Committee of the APT (MC-46) held from 13 to 16 December 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand. Following are the objectives of the CGSP-1: 1.

The 35th APT Standardization Program Forum (ASTAP-35) 17 - 20 April 2023, Bangkok, Thailand (Hybrid)
The objective of ASTAP is to promote, coordinate and harmonize telecommunication standardization activities across the Asia-Pacific region through regional cooperation. It is expected that participants strengthen their expertise on standardization and contribute to expand the scope of standardization activities through practical solutions on the ICT issues in this region. In addition, ASTAP-35 will organize an one-day Industry Workshop on 17 April 2023.

The 1st Meeting of APT
Preparatory Group for WTSA-24 21 April 2023, Bangkok, Thailand (Hybrid)
The objective of APT WTSA24-1 is to establish the structure of the APT Preparatory Group for WTSA-24, to adopt its tentative Terms of Reference, to develop Working Methods of the Preparatory Group, to appoint Office Bearers and to develop tentative Work Plan and Timeline of the Preparatory Group.

SATRC Workshop on Policy, Regulations and Services 8 - 10 May 2023, Islamabad, Pakistan (Hybrid)
The workshop will be hosted by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The SATRC Workshop on PRS is a part of the implementation of SATRC Action Plan Phase VIII (SAP-VIII) for 2022-2023 which was approved by the 22nd SATRC meeting held in 2021 virtually. The objective of this workshop is to share insights, experiences, best practices as well as engage in dialogue to identify the challenges, opportunities and possible way forward on the work items under the SATRC Working Group on Policy, Regulation and Services for SAP-VIII in order to have better understanding on those issues. It will also provide an opportunity for the SATRC Members as well as industry to share their experiences.

The 31st Meeting of APT Wireless Group (AWG-31) 22 - 26 May 2023 Ha Noi, Viet Nam (Hybrid)
The meeting will be hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communications, Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
AWG covers various aspects of emerging wireless systems to meet the emerging digital convergence era in the Asia-Pacific region. It also assists to provide effective radiocommunication solutions and to facilitate the transfer of technology and knowledge. In its 31st meeting, the AWG will continue to study on the existing work items, report on the progress of studies and discuss the relevant issues.

The 23rd APT Policy and Regulatory Forum (PRF-23) 20 - 22 June 2023, Nadi, Fiji (Hybrid)
The forum will be hosted by the Ministry of Communications, Republic of Fiji. PRF-23 will continue to focus its work in line with the five Strategic Pillars of the Strategic Plan of the APT which serves as the guideline for APT’s activities for 2021-2023. This PRF-23 will consist of special features which are as follows:
1) Special Ministerial Session: A session among Ministers and/or Vice Ministers to share insights, experiences, lessons learned, policies being implemented in their countries with regard to digital government, smart nation and smart island which are in line with the objective of the Singapore Statement adopted by the ICT Ministers of APT. 2) Regulators’ Roundtable: A roundtable among the Heads of the Regulators to share their experiences and practices on regulatory issues and identify the challenges, opportunities and possible way forward towards digital connectivity and digital transformation for sustainable digital society. 3) Business Dialogues: Sessions to provide platform for industry representatives to express their views on conducive ICT regulatory regime, satellite constellations and 5G developments.
