The 8th Asia Pacific Telecommunication and ICT Development Forum (ADF-8) was held from 28 to 30 June 2011 in Macao, China. The meeting was organized by APT and hosted by the Bureau of Telecommunications Regulation (DSRT) of Macao, Special Administrative Region, People’s Republic of China.

The main objectives of the Forum are:

  • To follow-up the implementation of the Bali “Plan of Action” from the APT Ministerial Meeting on Strengthening Regional Collaboration towards a Broadband Economy;
  • To consider the specific issues that were suggested by the 2010 ADF as topics for this ADF such as Infrastructure Sharing, Next Generation Networks (NGN), Climate Change and Green Technology for ICT Development
  • To further the development of Broadband Economies in APT Countries
  • To promote the development of telecommunication and ICT infrastructure by sharing the results of the research projects implemented under the APT HRD Programme for Exchange of ICT Engineers and Researchers;
  • To promote the development of telecommunication and ICT infrastructure by sharing the results of the research projects implemented under the APT ICT Development Programme for Supporting ICT Pilot Projects in Rural Areas.
