The Fifteenth Meeting of the Regional Interagency Working Group on ICT was held on 2 December, 2011 at United Nations Conference Centre in UNESCAP, Bangkok.
TENTATIVE PROGRAMME
- Opening Remarks by Mr. Xuan Zengpei, Director, IDD, ESCAP, Ms. Eun-Ju Kim, Head, ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP), Mr. Toshiyuki Yamada, Secretary-General, APT.
- Brief Presentation on ICT activities (including both ICT for development and ICT for disaster risk reduction) and planning for 2012 (by all participating UN agencies/regional/subregional organizations including ESCAP, ITU and APT)
- Presentations on collaborative regional disaster communications capacity in Asia and the Pacific (RDCCAP) including current status and way forward (by ESCAP, ITU, APT and other interested agencies)
- Follow-up to the outcome of the Asia-Pacific Regional Multi-stakeholder Forum on Emergency Telecommunications held in Mongolia from 8-11 July 2011 (by ITU, ESCAP)
- Potential areas of collaboration in 2012 (including the collaborative RDCCAP)
